Functional Plan
I’ll show you how to create a functional sketch and add color in just a few minutes. You’ll also learn why a functional sketch is so valuable and what key points to keep in mind.
Each video comes with practical A4 PDF documents. It’s best to print them out and draw along as you watch. Once you complete the course, you’ll also be able to create your own variations – PDFs for this are included as well.

Site Plan
After the introduction to functional sketches, we move on to the site plan. I’ll show you how to draw it using a ruler and fine-liner, and which materials work best. Detailed material recommendations can be found in the respective chapter.
Next, I’ll demonstrate how to add color to the plan. All demonstrations are done in real time, so you can see exactly how I complete the drawing.

After practicing ruler-based drawing in the previous projects, I’ll now show you how to develop additional variations freehand as a quick sketch. Perfectionism isn’t necessary here – the goal is to generate multiple ideas without getting lost in details.
These quick sketches can often be enough to secure a project.

I’ll guide you step by step in real time on how to draw this project and add color using just a few colored pencils. It’s always fascinating to see a floor plan come to life in three dimensions – almost like magic!
Although isometric drawing is slightly more complex than a site plan, don’t worry: you can watch the video as many times as you like. Additionally, a Zeichenwerk isometric grid in A4 format is available for download.

Isometric Quick Sketch
I’ll show you how to draw this project from another perspective – this time as a quick, freehand sketch completed in just a few minutes.
Tip
First, repeat the previous exercise about three times, trying to work a little faster each time. This will help you gain confidence, and your quick sketch should improve. If it’s not perfect yet, simply watch the video again and keep practicing.
