very soon the “Swabian Exhibition for Illustration” will take place in the Glaspalast Augsburg. 35 selected artists exhibit their art here. The SCHWABILLU contains excellent works from the fields of posters, comics, animation, infographics, children’s books and lifestyle, mainly created using the manual design techniques of ink, acrylic, watercolor or woodcut.
My works from puppet theaters in Augsburg, Bad Kreuznach, Bologna and Sicily are also included. I would be very happy about your visit.

My Ferrara sketchbooks

11. June 2020

during the Diari di Viaggio Festival 2019 in Ferrara I had to try something out again…
The blue photo images were generated from my own photos taken in Ferrara in recent years. I then used Adobe Photoshop to color the photos monochrome with a blue filter. Then printed upside down using a color laser printer (with recycling toner). Using acetone, I was able to transfer the images into the sketchbook (before binding). If you would like to find out more about this topic, you will find further information on transfer technology in our “Download Premium” section.

Festival Travelogues

4. June 2020

For the second time I was allowed to exhibit a selection of my sketchbooks at the Diari di Viaggio Festival 2019 in Ferrara. Artists from all over the world exhibit their travel sketchbooks here. It was great to meet like-minded people and draw together in this beautiful Italian city.
The entire old town center of Ferrara is a Unesco World Heritage Site. I would also like to offer a sketchbook seminar here in the future.

Best regards, Daniel Nies
